Dynamic Faith

December 17, 2017

After reading this passage I realized I need to make EVERY effort to grow my faith. Faith is not to remain static, but its supposed to be very dynamic. {Definition of dynamic - (of a process or system) characterized by constant change, activity, or progress} FAITH IS DYNAMIC. Faith is a process of growth in which our lives will constantly change. I'm not a big fan of change, but I've come to learn that change is inevitable with God. Instead of trying to fight it, it's easier to surrender the reigns on my life to God and let Him take control. Growing faith is necessary in order to be effective and productive (see verse 8).

I want to be productive for Jesus which means I need to grow in the qualities mentioned in verses 5-7, which also means I may have to go through more of those growing pains that I just absolutely adore. (Not..) But! It will all be worth it for the purpose of being effective for Jesus and help me grow in my calling. I am to make every effort to develop my faith and these characteristics. I'm never going to be so holy or righteous that one day I will be able to wake up and say - "My faith has reached completion, I'm finally done growing." No, I have something to do every day for the rest of my life. According to verse 10 I am supposed to make every effort to confirm my calling and election.

Growing my faith everyday is an adventure I get to experience with God. It's an adventure! It's exciting! You have to look at it as something fun instead of a chore. The more you grow, the more God can use you for His plans! I mean come on now, that's some pretty cool and exciting stuff for a believer!

I don't want a static faith. I want the dynamic, even if it does require change and growing pains. (Did that really just come out of my mouth!?! or should I say Did I really just type that!?!) Yes, I want dynamic faith and I think even just acknowledging that I want it along with the growing pains and changes is a sign of growing faith. My faith is supposed to serve God's purposes anyway, not mine. My faith isn't supposed to serve my flesh, but work with the Holy Spirit to complete the good work within me. My faith needs to mature so that my desires become in sync with God's desires, which will happen as I keep walking right along side Him. Keep walking with God and He will not just restore your heart, but change it to be more like His. (I still have quite some progress to make, but I'm getting there.)

Make every effort to cultivate a dynamic faith that will strengthen God's calling on your life.

To conclude I'll leave you with the Amplified version of  2 Peter 1:10 which states - "Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast) your calling and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble or fall."
